John Doble (fl.1740)

John Doble was a servant and companion of Charles Wesley before spending three years from 1738 as a schoolmaster in Georgia. On his return to England, he was harshly critical of the colonists referring to them as a 'wretched crew' but went back to Georgia in 1741 before moving on to Charlestown five years later.
