Herman Stanley Dixon (1889-1960)

Herman Stanley Dixon was born at Haroldswick, Shetland. He was educated at Kingswood School and trained for the ministry at Didsbury College. Dixon served as a missionary in China from 1916 to 1931. After his return home, he served as a circuit minister in Edinburgh and Penarth and then in 1937 was appointed one of the General Secretaries of the Conference of British Missionary Societies. Dixon helped to found the Sino-British Fellowship Trust at the time of the Japanese intervention in China and then served for three years as a circuit minister in Bedford until superannuation.
