John Denton (1771-1850)

John Denton was converted after hearing John Wesley preach in his native town of Halifax in Yorkshire. He entered the itinerancy in 1789 and enjoyed an active circuit ministry for thirty-six years, principally in the North of England and the midlands.

He superannuated in 1824 and spent the rest of his life in Leicester. During his last six years he suffered from repeated attacks of paralysis.
