Thomas Davies (b. 1785)
Thomas Davies was resident in the Burslem circuit of Staffordshire at the time of his recommendation to Conference for entry to the itinerancy. He was described in the recommendation as 'a pious young man of good health, promising abilities...'.
Davies served in home circuits until 1815 when he was appointed to Gibraltar where he remained for at least three years. He was expelled by the Conference of 1829 for 'flagrent dishonesty in some pecuniary transactions....' The door was however left open for consideration concerning his re-entry, which suggests that there were mitigating circumstances.
