Mark Davis (fl.1756-1770)

Mark Davis was a native of Dublin, who entered the Irish itinerancy in 1756 at the request of John Wesley. Despite some misgivings about Davis's doctrinal views, he proved to be a useful and successful preacher. In about 1770 he was ordained in the Church of England. Subsequent negotiations aimed at enlisting his help as a clergyman helper of John Wesley came to nothing and ended in some bitterness.
