John Davis (1780-1852)

John Davis was born at Dursley in Gloucestershire. He joined the Methodists at the age of seventeen and entered the Wesleyan itinerancy in 1802. His active circuit ministry of forty-four years was spent entirely in England.

Davis was afflicted by attacks of paralysis in 1845 while stationed in Leicester. He superannuated at that years's conference and spent his final years in the Liverpool North circuit.
