Roger Crane (1758-1836)

Roger Crane was born into a Presbyterian family in Preston, Lancashire. He first became acquainted with the Methodists during a visit to Leeds and joined the Preston society in 1777. Crane went on to become a class leader and local preacher. He entertained John Wesley during visits to the area.

Crane's sisters married the Methodist preachers Charles Atmore and Michael Emmet.
