Samuel Clarke (1766-1842)

Samuel Clarke was converted in early life and joined the Methodist society. For many years he filled the offices of local preacher, class leader and circuit steward. He was also a trustee of several chapels. Clarke was a generous giver to Methodist causes and had a particular interest in the distribution of periodicals and other publications.

At the time of his death, he was resident at Hellaby Hall near Rotherham in Yorkshire.
