Leslie Frederick Church (1886-1961)

 was born at Chester-le-Street and entered the Wesleyan ministry in 1908. After circuit work he became church history tutor at Richmond College and from 1935 to 1953 was connexional editor. He served as President of Conference in 1949.

Church was a prolific writer on Methodist historical subjects.
