William Bythway (1796-1874)

William Bythway was born in Dudley, Worcestershire, of Methodist parentage - his father was a local preacher in the Madeley circuit during the 1820s. He was converted at the age of sixteen and was called into the ministry in 1824.

Bythway exercised an active circuit ministry in England, Wales and Scotland until 1864 when he retired to Manchester.
