Joseph Brookhouse (1767-1850)
Joseph Brookhouse was born at Mackworth near Derby. He served for some years as a local preacher before entering the Wesleyan ministry in 1795. He exercised his ministry in a number of English circuits until 1834 when he was compelled by poor health to withdraw. He re-entered the active work in 1836 but again retired in 1837 and spent the remainder of his life in Brighton and London.
