Dr William Boyce (1710-79)

Dr William Boyce was a prolific composer and musician, who occupied several prestigious organist's positions in London and was for many years conductor of the Three Choirs Festivals. He was also a member of the Royal Household and from 1755 Master of the King's band of musicians. He was enthusiastic in his support of the early musical careers of Charles Wesley junior and his brother Samuel.
