Richard Boardman (1738-82)

Richard Boardman entered the itinerancy in 1763 and six years later was one of the first volunteers appointed by John Wesley to work in North America. Boardman exercised his American ministry principally in New York and Philadelphia until 1774 when he returned to Britain. He spent seven of the remaining eight years of his life and ministry in Ireland.
