Arthur Stanley Beaty (1883-1970)

Arthur Stanley Beaty was born in Carlisle. He was educated at Carlisle Grammar School and worked for a few years in the City Treasurer's office. Beaty trained for the Wesleyan ministry at Headingley and was appointed to the Ceylon Mission in 1906. He served overseas until 1939 with the exception of four years as a circuit minister in Britain from 1926. In his later years in Ceylon, Beaty served as Chairman of the South Ceylon District and the Ceylon Provincial Synod.

Beaty returned to the home ministry in 1939. He was Warden of Kingsmead Missionary Training College in Birmingham from 1945 until superannuation in 1952.
