James Ashton (1819-75)

James Ashton was born at Beaford in Devon.

He was converted in 1836 through the ministry of William Reed, and was ordained into the Bible Christian Church in 1841. In 1857, after serving principally in the South-east of England, he offered himself for the work in Australia and laboured in circuits in South Australia for the remainder of his ministry.
