Edward Allen (1700-81)

Edward Allen was a wealthy London merchant and an intimate friend of John Wesley. He gave large sums in support of Methodist causes, especially the erection of London's City Road Chapel.

Allen died in 1781 and was one of the first to be buried in the City Road graveyard
