Thomas Wood (1765-1826)
Thomas Wood was born at Flixton near Manchester and was converted at the age of nineteen. He entered the local Methodist society and began to preach locally in 1786. The following year, he entered the itinerancy. His active circuit ministry lasted until his final illness and death which occurred on January 8 1826 while he was stationed in the Newcastle circuit.
