Jonathan Williams (fl.1805-1847)

Jonathan Williams entered the Wesleyan ministry in 1805 and exercised an active circuit ministry until 1847. In that year he was tried by a minor district meeting in London for 'improperly contracting debts and with obtaining goods under promises of an early payment which he failed to keep.' The meeting decided that Williams be required to leave London and that his name should be removed from the printed minutes of conference. After 1848 Williams' name disappears from the record.
