Eliza Telitha Tooth (c.1790-c.1865)

Eliza Telitha Tooth was one of several daughters of Samuel Tooth, a prosperous builder and devout member of the London Methodist society. Samuel was a close friend of John Wesley and the principal builder of London's City Road Chapel. Eliza never married and with her sister Lydia ran a boarding school for young ladies in Stamford Hill, London. Eliza was herself a devoted Methodist and a close friend of the Wesley family, particularly Charles' daughter Sally. When Sally died in 1826, Eliza was appointed executrix of her will and in this capacity acted for a time as custodian of the Wesley family papers
