Richard Kinsman (1803-81)
Richard Kinsman was born at Stratton in Cornwall. He joined the Bible Christian Connexion in about 1817 and became a local preacher at the age of sixteen. He entered the ministry in 1829. He served as President of the Conference in 1840 and 1851, Connexional Secretary 1837, 1843 and 1854 and Missions Secretary in 1841 and 1855.
Kinsman was involved in the formation of the Evangelical Alliance and played an active role in the movement for abolition of slavery in the British Empire.
