William Hooper (1818-82)
William Hooper was born in Brixton, Isle of Wight, and was converted in 1832 by William Bailey. He entered the Bible Christian ministry in 1840 and volunteered for work in the United States in 1846. He spent five years in Wisconsin before joining the Canadian ministry. Hooper served as President of the Canadian Conference in 1860, 1866 and 1874, and was Connexional Secretary in 1861.
