High Demand collection
The High Demand Collection (HD), which is located on Blue Area Ground Floor in the Main Library, offers a useful service to students. The books and other items which make up the collection have been recommended by teaching staff as essential texts on course reading lists. The High Demand is open-access to all JRUL users, but borrowing of HD material is restricted to staff and students of The University of Manchester.
The HD is a self-service area, offering facilities for self- issue, renew and return at all times when the Library is open. It also houses several photocopying machines for the convenience of any users who may prefer to copy items without having to borrow them.
If you have any questions about the collection, please ask at the High Demand Collection desk. Staff there will be pleased to help.
Opening hours
The High Demand collection is an open access area and is open at all times when the Library is open. The opening hours of the HD desk during semester (other than mid-semester breaks) are 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Opening hours during breaks may vary; please see separate notices displayed.
