At the start of the project the CHICC team visited Chetham's to inspect their collection of Middle English manuscripts. 12 were eventually chosen, and it was decided to split them between digitisation on site, or at the Rylands, depending on size.
The first manuscripts were digitised at Chetham's using the portable conservation cradle. The remainder were transported to the Deansgate studio by Chetham's.
