My Account

The My Account option in Library Search offers a convenient way of managing your library books. Using this option you can:

How do I access My Account?

Just click on the My Account link in Library Search and enter your University username and password (customers who are not University staff or students can obtain a username and password from us).

How do I get my PIN?

Your PIN is for use with the Library’s self-service machines.  When you want to borrow a book using one of our machines, you will be asked to enter your PIN.

You will be given a PIN when you first become eligible to use Library services.

If you have forgotten your PIN, or you want to change it you can reset your PIN at anytime within the My Account option in Library Search.

Why is my account blocked?

A block on your Library account for fines or overdue loans (including recalled loans) will prevent you from renewing loans, borrowing further items from any University of Manchester Library, and booking a Group Study Room
