Later Version Wycliffe New Testament, beginning of 15th century
Size: 207 x 145 mm. iv + 185 + iii folios.
Later version of John Wycliffe's translation of the New Testament, ending imperfectly at 1 James 2: 16. There are the usual prologues. Preceded by a table of Lessons, Epistles and Gospels, according to the use of Salisbury. The word 'pope' has been erased from the table; so too the name of St Thomas at 7 July.
There are 2- and 3-line initials in blue ink with red penwork infill and flourishes, of indifferent quality.
Former owners include Bertram, 4th Earl of Ashburnham (1797-1878) (Appendix no. 24); and Henry Yates Thompson (1838-1928).
