Later version of John Wycliffe's translation of the New Testament, from the end of the Prologue to Romans to Apocalypse 15: 3.
There are 5-line initials of burnished gold on red and blue grounds with white penwork, at the beginning of each book, and numerous 3-line initials.
There are names of numerous former owners in the margins, including several members of the Forster family at the end of the 16th century. Other owners include Rev. Charles Fletcher of Southwell, Nottinghamshire; Bertram, 4th Earl of Ashburnham (1797-1878) (Appendix no. 23); and Henry Yates Thompson (1838-1928).
