Exhibition of miniature books
Miniature bookcase in the form of an Apse, by Tim Gosling
Friday, 29 June to Friday, 27 July 2012
The John Rylands Library, Deansgate
Free
On show for the first time in the UK, this exhibition takes its title from Kiss Me, Kate – Cole Porter’s take on The Taming of the Shrew – and features New York collector Neale M. Albert's renowned collection of miniature books.
The exhibition combines designer binding with miniature books by or related to Shakespeare. Included in the display are two miniature furniture pieces designed and made by Tim Gosling – an Apse with a set of Shakespeare volumes published by Treherne and a book stand with a miniature bust of Shakespeare.
