Membership procedures

Applications for membership of The University of Manchester Library must be made in advance of any visit, and it is very important that you bring your library card with you on each occasion to gain access to the Library.

Application forms should be completed by each student and submitted by the school or college librarian, or a member of that institution's teaching staff.

Please note that we will not normally consider direct applications from school or college students.

Applicants should wait 7 working days before visiting the Library to collect their card. Cards can be collected up to 7pm on weekdays and up to 4pm on weekends.
