My Manchester has changed

The new look My Manchester is live from Wednesday, 15 May and includes a wealth of new updates for you to enjoy. There are some key changes in terms of the way you will now be able to access Library content and services that you need to know about.

The main change you will see in terms of the Library's content is that the 'MyLibrary' tab no longer exists. The content which sat under this tab has now been moved predominantly under 2 tabs: 'My learning' and 'My home'.

'My home' will be the new location for the My library summary including current loans, reservations, charges and your Library PIN. This will also be where the new ‘Resource Bank’ sits, where My Learning Essentials and other online resources can be searched for and accessed from.

The majority of other Library services and content can be found under the 'My learning' tab, including subject guides, opening times, Library Search, Library Chat and booking Library study rooms. The 'My learning' tab also features information on your exams and IT support.

The final area with relevant Library content is the 'My finances' tab which includes links to topping up print credit and paying Library charges.

If you are struggling to find any Library content, in the first instance please check either the 'My home' or 'My learning' tabs to locate the information but if you are still struggling to find a shortcut you can use the newly created 'Marketplace'.

This new feature allows you to customise My Manchester and add in a wealth of different portlets. This can be accessed from 'My home' and you simply need to click 'add more apps' to then search through available portlets. There are a few Library specific portlets that can be found in here including Books on demand, Booked-in and e-scholar and Library Requests which contains inter-library loans, purchase requests, and so on.
