Your ideas in practice
As well as the winning ideas from the 2013 and 2014 Eureka! competitions, we had several ideas that we are now implementing in the Library, and many more which we have opened up to possible investment in the future.
Book a space
Jade Brodie's winning idea from Eureka! 2013 for bookable study desks was developed and was available in the Main Library.
Textbook Rescue has been running since 2013. Students graduating from the University are asked to donate their textbooks to the next generation of students.
The response has been tremendous at all Library sites, and a many students have benefitted from core textbooks for free!

The great idea of using trolley baskets to help carry books and other belongings around has been taken up by students looking to ease their journey around the Library.
If you’re struggling with a pile of books, you can pick up a book basket from the ground floor, next to the escalator in the Main Library!
Plants in the Library
New living plants have been placed in the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons foyer.
This makes your learning environment even more dynamic and appealing.
